Odoo App Installation
Upload modules
Upload modules from the ZIP archive to your Odoo hosting, or a GitHub repository connected there.
Place the unzipped modules in your custom add-on directory and restart the Odoo system service.
Update App List
After restarting, activate the Developer Mode, and go to the Apps menu.
Click on Update Apps List to fetch the new modules in the list.
Activate the App
Install the new module, finding it by name and clicking on the Activate button.
* If you don't see the module, try to remove the default Apps filter from the search bar.
Configuration
Follow the instructions in the module description to complete the installation process and start using the app.
Manual
Feed Configuration
After installing the module, open the feed list to prepare one of them for your needs. Go to the Website — eCommerce — Products — Product Data Feeds menu.
The module includes a ready-to-use data feed template configured to meet Snapchat Ads Manager requirements.
Feed Products
First, determine which products to include in the data feed. Use the Item Filter to set the selection filters.
Click Edit Domain to add product filters for the data feed.
Click Confirm to save the changes. The module automatically recalculates the number of products included in the feed according to the selected filters.
To manage feed products, click the link with the number of records or use the Items button at the top of the feed form.
Price Configuration
Before connecting the feed to Snapchat, configure product prices. Go to the Settings tab and, in the Prices section, select a Pricelist. This pricelist determines product prices.
To include promotional prices in the data feed, set the Sale Pricelist field. Configure this pricelist in advance and define discounted prices for products.
Stock Locations
The module allows you to select warehouses (stock locations) to calculate on-hand quantities and product availability statuses.
Go to the Settings tab, Stock section.
Select the desired Stock Locations in the field. As a result, the module calculates stock levels for the data feed using only the specified stock locations.
If a product is out of stock at the specified locations, the Out of Stock Mode parameter determines the availability status to specify:
- Out of Stock
- Available for Order
The module allows you to specify the product Availability Radius. The radius center is determined according to the coordinates of the primary company warehouse address specified in the linked partner card.
UTM Parameters
UTM parameters are a marketing tool that helps you analyze user paths and track conversions. To add UTM parameters to product links in your Snapchat feed, enable the Add UTM option on the feed Settings tab and enter the source parameters.
Caching
If your feed contains a large product list, processing can take a long time, and the external system may time out waiting for a response. Install the extension to cache data feeds, set update frequencies, and split large product processing into smaller parts.
Feed Columns
The module includes data feed columns preconfigured according to Snapchat Ads Manager requirements. These columns map to standard fields and use native Odoo product management logic. You can reconfigure the feed columns through the Odoo UI to map them to your custom product fields.
To manage columns, click the Columns button at the top of the feed form.

Product Configuration
You can configure the data feed for Snapchat at the product level. Odoo product data feed modules by Garazd Creation include extensions that allow you to enrich your products in Odoo with additional information and share it via the feed:
- Product Brands for Data Feeds — adds the ability to specify the product brand
- Number Fields for Data Feeds — adds fields for international numbers and product codes
- Extra Fields for Data Feeds — adds fields for product characteristics
Below are the product settings relevant to Snapchat.
Brand
To specify a brand, open a product, go to the General Information tab, and fill in the Brand field.
Codes
Specify product codes, such as GTIN and MPN, on the Extra tab in the Codes section.
Characteristics
The Characteristics section allows you to specify the following product attributes:
- Size System: AU, BR, CN, DE, EU, FR, IT, JP, MEX, UK, or US
- Size: product size according to the selected system
- Product Sizes: product length, width, and height in centimeters (cm) or inches (in)
- Color: main color of the product
- Material: material the product is made of
- Pattern: visual feature of the product
- Gender: unisex, female, or male
- Age Group: newborns, infants, toddlers, kids, or adults
Product Categories
Google uses product categories to classify items and determine data requirements for specific product types. The Odoo Snapchat Catalog Ads module includes an extension that allows you to import the Google Product Categories taxonomy and assign categories to products in Odoo. This product taxonomy is a standard not only for Google Shopping but also for other advertising platforms, such as Snapchat Catalog, Facebook Catalog, and others.
If you use eCommerce categories, you can also map them to Google categories.
Once you configure category mapping (eCommerce — Google Product Category), the module automatically assigns the Google category to all related products.
Feed Connection
To connect your data feed to Snapchat, you need a configured data feed and an Ads Manager account.
To add the product feed to your Snapchat Ads Manager account, first copy the data feed URL in Odoo.
Next, log in to your Ads Manager account and go to the Catalogs menu under the Assets section.
Fill out the form as follows:
-
01Select the Ecommerce catalog type
-
02Enter a Catalog Name and select the Use Product Feeds option
-
03Paste the copied Odoo feed URL
-
04Leave the Username and Password fields blank, as the feed is already secured with an access token
-
05Specify the update frequency in the Feed Schedule section
-
06Click Create Catalog
Wait for the upload to complete, and your products will be available in Snapchat Ads Manager.
