Overview

Google's ads and free listings contain aggregated product reviews from various sources.

The Google Product Review Feeds app complements the GMC Feeds and GMC Professional solutions and allows you to supply Odoo product ratings from your Odoo e-Commerce to Google Merchant Center.

Product ratings, collected on your website, are provided with product identifiers, product URLs, reviewer details, and overall rating numbers as product review sources by XML feeds.

All the required review data, as specified in the Google Product Review Feeds guidelines: https://developers.google.com/product-review-feeds.

Odoo App Installation

Upload modules

Upload modules from the ZIP archive to your Odoo hosting, or a GitHub repository connected there.

Place the unzipped modules in your custom add-on directory and restart the Odoo system service.

Update App List

After restarting, activate the Developer Mode, and go to the Apps menu.

Click on Update Apps List to fetch the new modules in the list.

Activate the App

Install the new module, finding it by name and clicking on the Activate button.

* If you don't see the module, try to remove the default Apps filter from the search bar.

Adding a Rating Feed
First, open the preconfigured GMC feed for the products whose reviews should be sent to Google. Click Add Rating Feed to add a related data feed with reviews and ratings for the corresponding products:

The rating feed includes predefined columns that are mapped to the corresponding product fields:

At least one product identifier field should be filled in:

Connecting to GMC

Before connecting the rating feed to Google Merchant Center, copy the URL of this feed:

Google Product Ratings Program
If you do not participate in the Google Product Ratings program, you first need to submit an interest form. To do this, sign in to your Google Merchant Center account, go to Settings - Add-ons - Product Ratings and click the link:

GMC Side
After joining the program and obtaining eligibility to display product reviews, open the Settings menu, go to the Data sources section, and click Add product reviews:

Then complete the following steps:

  1. Select the Add product reviews from a file option
  2. Paste the copied feed URL
  3. Click Continue

FAQ

How do I change the feed URL from the base URL to the domain of a specific website?
You can specify your website domain on the feed settings tab in the “Websites“ field. After that, the feed uses the domain name of the specified website. P.S. To see the “Websites” field, you need the “Multi-website“ user access rights.
